Who is the best Gynecologist in New Delhi for Pregnancy & PCOS Care?

I’m just a regular patient from South Delhi who’s been through the PCOS struggle and then pregnancy, so I’m writing this as someone who’s actually been there not as a doctor or expert. I’ve seen quite a few gynecologists over the years, and if I had to pick one person who truly made a difference for both my PCOS management and my pregnancy journey, it would be Dr. Amrita in Lajpat Nagar.

I know people always say “there is no one best doctor,” and that’s true to an extent, but for someone dealing with PCOS + planning/getting pregnant, the right fit matters a lot. I want to share honestly why she stood out so much for me and why I keep recommending her to friends and cousins.

How PCOS + Pregnancy Became My Nightmare Before Finding Her

Like many women in their late 20s/early 30s, I had classic PCOS symptoms for years: missed periods every other month, stubborn weight around the middle no matter how much I exercised, facial hair that made me avoid photos, acne that wouldn’t quit even after 30, and the worst part, trying to conceive for over a year with no luck. I went to two different gynecologists in GK and Saket before. One gave me birth control for 8 months straight (which made me gain more weight and feel depressed), the other just said “lose 10 kg and it will happen” and sent me off. No proper tests, no explanation, no follow-up plan.

Then last year I finally got pregnant (after a lot of stress), but because of PCOS I was immediately classified as high-risk borderline sugar levels, high BP episodes, slow fetal growth in early scans. That’s when everything changed after I switched to Dr. Amrita.

What Actually Made Her Different

She didn’t rush me out in 7 minutes. First visit she spent almost 30 minutes just listening, really listening to my entire history, not just the last 6 months. She ordered a proper PCOS workup (AMH, insulin, free testosterone, DHEAS, 2-hour GTT, thyroid, vitamin D) even though I was already pregnant. Most doctors skip half of that.

She explained the Rotterdam criteria to me in a plain Hindi-English mix so I actually understood why I have PCOS and why it makes pregnancy trickier. She didn’t scare me, but she was honest about what we needed to watch (gestational diabetes screening at 16 weeks instead of 24–28, low-dose aspirin for preeclampsia risk, frequent growth scans).

During pregnancy she was very hands-on: every visit included a quick ultrasound (she does it herself), she showed me the heartbeat and measurements on the screen, and explained what everything meant. When my sugar went slightly high at 18 weeks, she didn’t panic or immediately put me on insulin. She adjusted diet first, added small-dose metformin, and rechecked in 10 days. It came under control without meds.

I delivered at 38 weeks (normal delivery, no complications), and she stayed calm through the whole labour even when I was panicking. Post-delivery she followed up on my PCOS again, helped me restart cycles naturally, gave realistic diet and exercise advice, and told me exactly when to come back for thyroid/sugar check.

Why Lajpat Nagar Location Was a Blessing

Her clinic is in Lajpat Nagar, which for someone living in South Delhi is perfect. Parking is easier than GK/Saket, the area is central, and follow-ups (especially during pregnancy when you go every 2-4 weeks) didn’t feel like a big chore. The clinic has its own ultrasound machine and basic lab collection, so I didn’t have to run to different places.

I’ve now referred my younger sister (PCOS + trying to conceive) and my cousin (first pregnancy with PCOS history) to her, both are very happy.

If You’re in the Same Boat Right Now

If you’re tired of generic advice, short consultations, or feeling like just another file, consult best Lady Doctor in South Delhi who actually specializes in PCOS and high-risk pregnancy. In my personal experience, book an appointment with best gynae in Lajpat Nagar (Dr. Amrita) is one of the smartest steps I took.

I’m not saying she’s the only good one there are several excellent gynecologists in South Delhi but for the combination of PCOS + pregnancy care, she was exactly what I needed: knowledgeable, patient, thorough, and calm under pressure.

If you’re struggling with irregular cycles, fertility issues, or already pregnant with PCOS background don’t keep delaying. Go see someone who will treat you as a person, not just a case. It makes all the difference.
